What Our Dietitian Eats for Breakfast

Kickstarting your morning with a nourishing breakfast is one of the best ways to set yourself up for the day. A healthy breakfast routine not only gives you a dose of much-needed vitamins, minerals and nutrients but can also help you stay focused and productive until your next meal. Here’s how Amazonia’s Head Dietitian, Tara Kaff, starts her day.

Just like the rest of your body, your brain requires fuel to function at its best. Glucose is the brain’s main source of energy and after fasting overnight, this supply is depleted. Choosing nutritious options throughout the day is important, and this all starts with a wholesome breakfast.

Quick options such as cereals, breakfast bars and ready-made shakes are easy to stock up on, but taking a few extra minutes (when you have the time) to make a nutritious breakfast will make a world of a difference to your immune system – your body will thank you for it.

As much as I enjoy grabbing an acai bowl from my local cafe on the way to work – or blending up a fresh one at home – I often run out of time to do so. This is where Amazonia’s Raw Acai Freeze Dried powder comes in.

Stored in a convenient, resealable bag with a long shelf life, it packs 21x the antioxidants of blueberries, helping to protect cells against free radical damage and boost your immune system.

It’s great sprinkled on top of oats or yoghurt, or blended into a delicious smoothie or bowl! Here’s my favourite breakfast Acai Smoothie recipe:
