​Why you need more greens.

How many times have you been told to “eat your greens”?

Green, leafy vegetables are loaded with important vitamins such as vitamins A, C, E and K and micronutrients including calcium, potassium and magnesium. They’re also high in fibre, folate and antioxidants essential for healthy digestion and all round support for your nervous and immune system. Greens are low in carbohydrates, fat and sodium making them ideal for assisting in maintaining a healthy body weight. What you eat influences your body’s pH balance - grains, dairy and protein leave an acidic residue after digestion whereas green leafy vegetables are alkaline.

A ratio primarily based on vegetables with a small amount of fruit will keep sugar levels low as well.

Feel Good Snacking

Crunchy, fresh vegetables including snow peas, green beans, celery or cucumber are great replacements for processed foods like biscuits, crackers and chips.
